Random acts of kindness needed. Help me to see!
Hi my name is Zion !
I live in a cozy country home filled with love and my days are filled with sunshine and adventure. Every day I freely mozy around the neighborhood and enjoy the beauty that each day brings. I have always had a very active life and quite honestly have had my fair share of challenges. My parents call me the 20,000 dollar dog after 2 ACL surgeries, run ins with porcupines, pancreatitis, and most recently diabetes and the deteration of my eye sight. Needless to say, I never give up and have had the constant blessing of the support from my owners and community. Today I continue to seek that support in the generosity and loving kindness of others.

Let me tell you a little story....One day on my casual walk around the neighborhood I discovered a large pile of fat on the side of the road. Turns out one of my neighbors who is a hunter had started dumping the remains of his hunting trips in a gully on the side of the road. Being that I love to enjoy all things, I bet as you could imagine, I overdid it and my health took a turn for the worse. Frightened my parents brought me to the vet where I was diagnosed with pancreatitis and over a few days I was nurtured back to health. Not to long after my pancreas weakened and stopped producing insulin leading to diabetes.
Today I am feeling so much better as my mom and dad have have found the perfect regiment to support me including insulin, raw fruits and veggies everyday and some amazing herbal remedies. I go to the vet regularly and he says I'm doing GREAT! I'm running again and finally feeling back to myself for the most part...but....In the last few months my eyesight has rapidly started to diminish. I cannot see treats or balls as they are tossed to me and sometimes I'm afraid to go out at night because I can't see very well. My doctor said that this is very common after getting diabetes. It just has all happened so quickly. My parents want me to have the best life possible but they have to come up with over 5,000 for me to have cataract surgery and checkups after. It's a big expense and they already work extra hard to keep up with all my monthly bills (insulin, needles, herbs, daily fresh produce, doctors visits, ect.) Even though they do it all with a smile I know that this surgery is really a stretch for them. Both my parents are generous and kind and often put others needs before there very own and because of this I have faith that the universe and the good will of others will also help to support us in our time of need. In the most perfect world I envision that this is how life works. We take turns supporting and uplifting one another.

Being a blind dog is quite a frightening challenge. I cannot imagine that I will not be able to see the beautiful faces of my family, or be able to fetch sticks or run in the woods. There is so much beauty in this world and I would love to watch with eyes wide open as my life unfolds. The magic of this life I don't want to miss.

My dad says Karma has put me in this body for a reason and that we all have our challenges and there is so much to learn from them. I believe that this story of challenge and triumph is one to be shared and co created with you. If you have it in your heart to offer prayers and/or donations towards assisting me and my loving family to restore my vision, I would be so deeply grateful and humbled by your kindness. Thank you for even taking the time to read this and think about me. I'm sure if you met me you would love me. Maybe you already do.
I rrrufff you too,
