On January 5, 2025 my father passed away.
The man, the myth, the legend... John Wesley Spridgeon Jr. 10/06/1959 - 01/05/2025
This fundraiser is to help our family have a proper memorial service for John. He was an incredible human being that deserves a proper send off. His wishes were to have his ashes spread at Fort Buena Ventura Park in Ogden UT, at his favorite disc golf course.
Aside from his family, there was only one other true love in my father’s life… Disc Golf!
Our wish is to host a Disc Golf Themed Memorial. This was his passion and he made such an impact on the disc golf community he loved. There would be no better way to honor his legacy than this.
John Wesley Spridgeon Jr. was a pioneer in the sport of Disc Golf. He began playing with friends in the 70’s at Lincoln Park in West Seattle, WA. His group of friends would set up a course of 18 trees with ribbons or ropes tied around them to mark what we now have as baskets.
He played for over 50 years up until he could no longer throw. This was his absolute favorite thing to do and his memory will live on with us on the course!
With all of this said, I am asking for everyone's help. For so many years my father scraped by and lived a simple life with no frills or luxuries. Please help me provide a final, glamorous celebration of life that can bring the whole community together.
My father was an incredible man and will forever live on without cancer defining him. Please help me in adding some positive memories to his legacy.
-Wesley
