Newest Update:

Most gut wrenching update. Dio did have his previous surgeries, but they were both done on Tues. Dec 12th. We were discharged on Wednesday Dec 13th. On Saturday Dec. 16th we found out we all tested positive for COVID we believe we got it from the hospital. During that time we were observing Dio. He had a fever of 101F with Tylenol. We were going to rush him to CHLA but 2 minutes in the drive he went to cardiac arrest, I (mom) performed CPR on him while dad drove to the nearest hospital, where they were able to bring him back. His heart did stop for a couple of seconds. They stabilized him, and airlifted him to CHLA. We’re here now and we don’t know how long we’ll be here for.

New update:

Hi everyone, this fund is now to help with Dio’s upcoming surgeries. He has two coming up, one 2 days before Thanksgiving and the next one on December 12th. That means I will have to take time off. I thought with my new job things would be a bit better but things are still processing for us even for Joe. Hopefully this will be the last time to ask for help!!

Hi my name is Vanessa, and I’m asking for help for our monthly bills. I thought we’d be ok between my job transition but it’s been a challenge. This all started when I got a stroke at only the age of 27 years old at my former job, they did nothing to accommodate me medically (even with hospital proof) and only gave me more work, which is why I left. I have a 19 month old who is disabled due to a rare genetic disorder, dad stays at home to take care of him.

I now work as an aide for SPED middle schoolers. But I don’t make enough to make ends meet, what I made in a month at my current job is what I made in a week at my former job (I left my last job mid August and started the new one a week after). We’ve applied for help back in July but nothing is getting processed until next month and with what I make now we just won’t make it.

i know it’s a hard time for everyone right now, but any help would be greatly appreciated until we get everything for our son sorted out.
