Hi All, My friend Digambar Pandey is in Medanta Hospital Lucknow ICU for the past 2 weeks. He had surgery that did not go as expected and he lost lots of blood. And his platelet counts dropped to an unbelievable 3000. Since then he had been given almost 50 units of blood and platelets. But his body is not able to make platelets on its own. Doctors from Medanta and PGI Lucknow have suggested transferring him to PGI Lucknow and performing Bone Marrow, which is very expensive in India. The estimated cost is more than INR 20 Lakhs (USD 30,000).
