Paradise Fire: Diane New and a New Start

Donation protected
On November 8, 2018, Diane New posted the photo seen below on Facebook, of her canyon view in Paradise, California, saying that the fire looked to be at a potentially safe distance.  But, within a few hours, she and those she loved were living a nightmare - evacuating from her home. Within 24-hours she'd lost her home and all of her valuables to the ravages of the "Camp" fire.   She is now in the stressful and tricky position of needing to rebuild her life, and move forward after a devastating loss.

As a full time caregiver for an elderly friend she's also experiencing the severe hardship of having lost her income, as the woman in her care is also displaced.

All who know Diane admire her for her open-hearted selflessness, generosity, and compassion.  Even today, as she considers what the future might hold, her thoughts are with her community, and those who are experiencing this hard time in an evacuation facility.

Still..... her needs are real and serious, and it's going to take some time and funds to rebuild her life.  Your donation will do much, in a very direct way, to be of real help to someone very deserving to rise like a phoenix from this experience.  Please, join me in helping to get Diane back on her feet.

So....  Who am I.... and why did I create this campaign??

I'm Katherine Milton, and Diane New has been a dear friend for nearly 15-years.  I followed the news of the Camp fires closely, worried about her, and when Diane evacuated, I invited her to stay with me at my home just outside Sacramento, California.   The funds you are providing will be used to replace goods lost in the fire, which includes everything she owned.  She'll need a first and last month's rent for a new place, and furnishings, kitchenware, clothes, and some expendable funds to cover meals and lodging as she creates her new life.  I have already established Diane as the official beneficiary for this campaign, so the only person who will be accessing these funds is Diane herself.   THANK YOU for your part in helping our dear friend recover from this crushing loss.
