DeYoung Family Zoo in Wallace MI is getting ready to bring home a new family member! We are so close to our goal but we need your help!
I have been asked to set up this gofundme by a dear friend Richard Go who has become a part of our zoo family and Wallace the Hippopotamus is a big part of his life.

Thank you for taking the time visiting my fundraiser to The Deyoung Family Zoo. I am a loyal friend and volunteer Of the DeYoung family zoo. The zoo is a privately owned and operated zoo nestled in the upper Peninsula of Michigan they are very much open to the public. This zoo Got 4 marines through a war, it was something we look forward to visiting. Unfortunately I am the last of the remaining 4. Last summer Bud and Carrie brought great honor to my friend Mark and allowed me to travel from Ohio to honor his last wishes and spread his ashes in the hippo enclosure. Wallace meant and still means a lot to me and my fallen comrades, he brought a smile to our face while we were in the middle of a war torn country. here's a link to tell that story now here's a few words from one of the owners about what you're trying to accomplish thank you God bless and Semper Fi.

Wallace the Hippopotamus is the largest member of our family. We brought Wallace into our family from a zoo in Indonesia bringing in new bloodlines to the United States. We are excited to have found an unrelated female to add to our family to help further diversify genetics. We hope to bring her home in May. This has been a long process and huge financial undertaking for a private family run zoo. We are excited for our visitors to be able to learn about Hippopotamus and watch her grow up at the zoo. Our male Wallace will also enjoy her company as they spend the next 50 years together! Wallace is a big part of our family and our community and we are grateful to have the opportunity to add to his family at our zoo."
