Eric Deuce Butler II - Education Fund

On Tuesday afternoon, Deanna Yvonne Thorpe Butler transitioned to be with our Lord. Though losing our daughter, sister, mom, aunt, teacher and colleague, brings us all an unbearable heartache, we find solace in knowing she fulfilled one of her greatest joys and accomplishments by going the extra mile preparing for her students for the upcoming school year. Her students inspired her, she cared about them dearly and worked tirelessly to help them succeed.

Deanna was extremely passionate about three things: being an educator, the Pittsburg Steelers, and HER SON, Eric “Deuce” Butler II.

Deanna valued education highly. She was critical in nurturing, ensuring Deuce excelled in his studies and learning, and was in the best position to help him reach his highest potential. Her vision was to continue to make Deuce’s education a top priority, and to honor that, we, Deanna’s family and loved ones, are asking for contributions, in lieu of flowers, that will be placed in a trust to ensure Deuce will have the future and success in life that she dearly wanted for her only son.
