We, Lisa Mireles-Robinson, Theresa Garza and Kathy Wyrick along with a few other close friends and family would like to share this story of our sister/friend and the love of her life, Desmond and ask for a monetary donation to help with the piling of medical bills, transplant cost, prescriptions, travel expenses,after care and possible unpaid days of work since Gloria will be by Desmond side while obtaining transplant or send your prayers for this family.  

Everybody has their story, Desmond went through a lot in his life which from a young age until present.  All he has ever said was he needed someone by his side supporting him/believing him and pushing him.  His life was by far not a regular upbringing, in order to survive he had to do what he could to survive and fell upon an addiction.  He has been alcohol free for 9 months now and he did that on his own with the love of his life by his side supporting him mentally.  Unfortunately when stopping the addiction it had already caused some damage and Desmond needs a liver transplant, he is on a no work order due to his condition at this time and working on obtaining disability which we all know this can take years and he needs to get weekly procedures until he obtains a transplant in order to survive.  

Gloria grew up differently and always had a large family and big circle of friends that have supported her throughout the last thirty plus years while she has supported the community through mentoring, leadership, education or just plain paying it forward.  Gloria has also had quite a few rough times in her life including domestic violence/trust issues which she is overcoming by the help of the love of her life and has for the last few years fell upon some medical issues (back) of her own.  

And still after several times of Desmond being homeless and now working hard to meet all criteria's for a liver transplant Desmond along with Gloria still go out to homeless camps, needy families, raise funds for homes for families, raise funds for TBI (traumatic brain injury) for a gentleman, raise funds for funeral expenses for a family, they assist and obtain support for these needs through the support of the community, grants and businesses despite the needs of their own.  

We know It is hard for Gloria or Desmond to ask for help since that is what they have always done is help others but it is time we help these two wonderful people who have the two largest hearts we know so they can keep doing what they do best.  They are the two most compassionate people we know.  

Gloria and Desmond need our help today.  We all who know Desmond and Gloria and everything they have done for others will one day volunteer and/or pay it forward in the future.
