Dear friends,
If you’re reading this, you’re likely a friend or acquaintance of Bash and/or Melissa (Meli). For those that are not familiar, Bash, Melissa and their children, 13-year-old Laura and 5-year-old Knox moved from NYC to Westport, in 2017.
16 months ago, Bash was your typical husband and dad. Perhaps a lot like you, your own partner or father or son. He worked hard at his job, loved his children, supported his wife, and lived life to the fullest each and every day. There were Sunday soccer games, backyard barbeques, Christmas mornings, and family movie nights. Then came Glioblastoma - an aggressive and relentless brain cancer. The diagnosis came out of nowhere; a stunning and life-changing shock. Surgeons removed the tumor and the family dug in for the fight. But the grim verdict was in: Bash had just 24 months to live.
You may or may not know much about Glioblastoma. It is a crushing disease in many ways. One of the ways is financial. Bash’s loving and supportive wife, Melissa, has been keeping the family afloat as Bash’s condition has progressively declined month after month. Bash, an incredibly bright, passionate (sometimes to a fault), and quick-witted man, beloved by friends and family, lover of the LA Rams, golfer, and culinary Wildman, is now bed-bound and can no longer communicate. He is doing hospice at home.
Throughout this fight against cancer, Melissa worked full time, and cared for Bash full time, while raising the two children, who are witnessing something no kids should ever have to endure. This, as she wrangles multiple medical situations and deals with the complex, frustrating, and time-consuming process of increasing insurance claims.
Any financial aid is deeply appreciated in this heartbreaking and demanding chapter of Bash’s family’s life. Funds will be used to pay for the staggering and mounting medical bills, plus other expenses that come from helping provide 24 hrs. care at home.
Melissa has been firing on all cylinders, day and night, for over a year. But now she needs your help and would be most grateful for your support.
Thank you for considering, and for your thoughts and prayers for Bash and his family.
