Derek Day was a loving father of three wonderful kids (ages 2, 6 and 8) and a devoted and faithful husband to Becky for 14 years.  Early Thursday AM (Sept 15) Derek suffered a massive stroke and despite many, many hours of surgery, all attempts to restore blood-flow to his brain were unsuccessful. By Friday night (Sept 16), Derek had passed away.  He was 37.

Becky is currently a stay-at-home mom who has been homeschooling their kids.  This fund has been set up to help cover the immediate needs of Becky and the kids due to Derek’s death.  Anything collected beyond their immediate needs will be set aside in a college fund for Derek’s children.  Friends, family and InterSystems work colleagues are encouraged to give as they are able in order to bless Derek’s family and ease some of their load (ref: James 1:27).

Derek’s passing leaves a large hole in the hearts of the many, many people whose lives he touched.  We have lost a husband, father, son, brother, cousin, teacher, colleague and friend.  As Derek has blessed our lives, let us honor his memory by blessing his family.
