Update: Deno Passed Away Peacefully at Home ❤️
It breaks my heart to share that Deno passed away at home on March 14th, surrounded by the people who loved him most.
After fighting so hard through his kidney failure, Deno came home for what we hoped would be a continued recovery. He was strong and brave until the very end, and we are grateful he was able to spend his last days in comfort, surrounded by love, kisses, and his family.
Thank you to everyone who supported us through this—whether you donated, shared, or just sent kind words. Your generosity allowed us to give Deno the best possible care and bring him home where he belonged.
Though we are heartbroken, we’re also full of gratitude for the time we had with him and for the community that lifted us up when we needed it most.
We love you forever, my brown-eyed boy. ❤️
These photos are from his last month at home
Hi everyone,
If you know me, you know how much Deno means to me. He’s my best friend, my protector, and my soul dog. Over the past two weeks, he gave us the scare of a lifetime—landing in the hospital with acute kidney failure—among other conditions. After 10 days of intensive care, IV fluids, and countless tests, we were finally able to bring him home on Friday.
Deno’s kidneys are still fighting to recover, and his treatment is far from over. He now requires:
Daily subcutaneous fluids
Multiple medications to support his kidneys
Frequent vet check-ups & bloodwork to monitor his progress
While his hospital stay helped stabilize him, his kidney values plateaued—meaning he’s not out of the woods yet. Dialysis is an option, but at another $10,000 per treatment, it’s not realistic for us right now. His current medical bills have already reached over $10,000, and ongoing care will continue to add up.
If you’ve ever met Deno, you know he’s a fighter with the biggest heart. He’s not ready to give up, and I’m not ready to give up on him either. But I need help.
Any donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward Deno’s medical bills, medications, and vet visits to give him the best chance at more time with us. If you can’t donate, please share his story to help us reach others who might be able to.
Thank you for your love, support, and kindness. Deno and I are so grateful ❤️
