Demi was first diagnosed with Crohn's disease at 18 years old.

It is a rare, chronic autoimmune disorder that affects the digestive system and has

made Demi's quality of life more complicated for a young adult.

The light at the end of the tunnel is near because, on June 9th, 2022 Demi got a

total proctocolectomy with an ileostomy. This is an extensive procedure that will

require months to recover. We are hoping for good outcomes!

Throughout my friendship with Demi, she remained financially independent and

worked through all obstacles and flare-ups. As the recovery time for this surgery

is unpredictable, any help would be greatly appreciated. Even if you cannot
