Support for Craig Stephens - Fighting Brain Cancer

The agriculture world knows him as DeerDetailer, but to those who have had the pleasure of meeting him, Craig Stephens is much more than a detailer. He’s a husband, father, and friend, and he puts those things first! Now, Craig needs our help!

On Feb 6, Craig was admitted to the hospital after experiencing sudden vision loss. It was less than 3 minutes before his family doctor knew this was serious. They found themselves leaving Vulcan Medical Clinic to the Calgary South Health Campus where they were then taken by ambulance to Foothills Medical Centre. Once there, the news that no one ever wants to hear was later delivered—it was cancer. Doctors discovered a malignant tumor the size of an orange growing from his brain. The road ahead is uncertain, but what we do know is that Craig is facing a high-risk surgery on Thursday, February 20th—a surgery that could change everything. The recovery process remains unknown, and in the meantime, Craig’s health is being carefully monitored while he is spending much-needed time surrounded by his family.

While Craig fights this battle, his wife, Louise, remains his rock. She continues to juggle the many roles a mother plays in a house of six while also navigating the daily changes and challenges that come with this situation. Between caring for their four children and making the three-hour round-trip hospital visits from their small town of Vulcan, the journey has been anything but easy for the Stephens family.

This fundraiser is our chance to give back to a man who has given so much. The funds will help ease the financial burden on the Stephens family, covering medical expenses, travel costs, and the time needed for recovery.
