Some of you know this, but for those of you we haven't seen in awhile, we are in the process of adopting a beautiful baby boy that was born in early October. He has been with us since he left the hospital and he is doing great. He eats and sleeps well and is pretty chilled out, which works well for our family! We are in the process of trying to finalize the adoption, but the whole process will probably take 6-9 months. This adoption has been a roller coaster ride and a journey of faith! Many of you guys have loved on us by praying for us, bringing us meals, taking care of our kids and just calling and texting to check in. We are VERY grateful for the love and support we have been shown through this process.
In addition to praying for us, several of you have asked if there are ways you can help and support us. Continuing to bring us meals is a great way to help because it frees up our time to spend bonding with our latest addition while continuing the hectic schedule that was already in place before this new journey began. Another way you can help is by donating some funds to cover the adoption expenses. We are doing a direct placement adoption, so we don’t have to pay agency fees; however, because of the situation there are significant legal fees. Melissa and I are committed to cover a significant portion of the cost through our own savings, working overtime and conducting fundraisers. In fact, thanks to many of you, we raised $2,000 at a yard sale in early September and our friend and personal trainer Julie Passman is doing an Adoption Bootcamp exercise class for us on Dec. 6 from 2:30-4:00 at Sea Isle Park, https://www.facebook.com/events/1523873057931452/.
