Davidson Family Terminal Cancer Fund

Donation protected
UPDATE: 10/5/21
Shane's cancer has metastasized to his lungs, bone, adrenal glands, muscles, lymph nodes and skin. At this time, there is no treatment that will save his life. He is terminal. This was a shock to the family. Crystal is not able to work due to Shane's ever changing medical needs. Last week he was admitted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, Wa for pneumonia. This will likely be an ongoing issue due to the metastasis in his lungs. Shane now has Home Health ordered, however the family is still waiting for the HH agency to do his intake assessment. Their home is in need of many repairs. Shane's brother has been assisting in completing these repairs, however, funds are needed to make sure all the necessary repairs can be completed. Crystal is planning on selling the home but the repairs must be complete first. The Davidson's need our help to ensure they can spend the time they need grieving the loss of their husband, dad, grandpa, brother, son, friend and loved one. Shane is Crystal's person, the love of her life, her best friend. The family will need all of our love and support, both financially and emotionally to recover from this great loss. Their lives will forever be changed. They will feel this loss for the rest of their lives. Crystal and her family deserve time to grieve and heal without feeling the pressure of the finanical burden. Please, lets all come together to get them through this horrific time.

Shane has been diagnosed with Stage 4 oropharyngeal cancer caused by the HPV virus. Shane is going to need extensive treatment including surgery, chemotherapy and radiation. He will also be having a port-a-cath placed for administration of the chemotherapy. He will also require a PEG tube (feeding tube) placement for nutrition as he is unable to eat at this time.

Shane is a loving father to 3 amazing children, grandpa to a beautiful 3 year old, an uncle, a brother, and a friend to many. He is a supportive and loving husband to his wife, Crystal, of 25 years. Shane and Crystals son, Race is disabled and requires 24 hour care. Crystal has been his certified caregiver, but she will not be able to continue this after Shane begins treatment. Crystal will lose her income when she is no longer able to care for Race. Shane and Crystal are currently fully supporting their granddaughter and oldest son as well as assisting to support their daughter and niece. Shane has been off work since the beginning of February 2021 because of his illness. He is unable to obtain short-term or long-term disability from his employer so he has no income at this time. The cost of the treatment alone is immense but there are other ancillary costs as well as the normal monthly bills that will significantly impact the Davidson's.  Shane will be out of work for  up to 2 years. Crystal is doing everything she can to find a job but Shane's care will require most of her time and energy making working extremely difficult.

Crystal and Shane are loving, caring, supportive, generous, and kind. They have overcome many struggles and challenges throughout their 27 years together. Their love is one that many people dream of finding. Their love for their family and friends is enormous. They are a truly amazing couple who need some extra love during this incredibly difficult time. Please consider donating to support this incredible family. If you are unable to donate, please share this fundraiser so it can reach as many people as possible.
