Kicking PancreASS Cancer
Donation protected
A week after Father’s Day, we received some pretty terrifying news that David had the C-word. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer after his annual medical screenings came back abnormal. He is recovering from a splenectomy and partial pancreas removal, and he begins an aggressive 6 month chemo treatment plan starting next week on September 11th. While he has health insurance, it only covers a portion and he will likely be out of work for 6-7 months. He is absolutely itching to get back to work, but the chemo treatment will be intensive, with two days back to back of 4-5 hours of chemo infusion, followed by 5 days of injections to boost his red blood cell count. This will repeat every 2 weeks for the whole 6 month treatment time. So far, he has been out of work since the 30th of July, the date of his surgery. As so many of you know, he’s the hardest working man alive and typically works 11-12 hrs a day. Not bad for a 71 year old guy outside in this Texas heat! Please consider making a donation to Dad to ease the financial burden that chemo brings and the lost wages he and Mom will be facing. Thank you so much! We want to keep this “tough old bird” around as long as possible!
