David's Medical Equipment

I am writing for my very best friend's son. David is like a son to me as he and my son have been best friends since they are 5 years old. David is 32 years old, when he was 21 , he was diagnosed with multiple sclorosis. It quickly became clear that he had the more severe form of the disease, known as primary progressive multiple sclorosis. This form of the disease has no remission period. Within 6 months of being diagnosed, the doctors recommended he drop out of Temple University and begin a very aggressive form of treatment. It's been 11 years and David has tried many treatments, unfortunately nothing has really helped and his health has continueally declined. Over the last 2 years the disease has progressed quickly. I admire David's outlook and sense of humor. He's always hopeful and most of the time positive; always looking for new information that may help.

At this time David is wheelchair bound and not able to transfer from his wheelchair, bed or bathroom on his own. I am looking to raise money to buy a Molift Quick Riser. It will help his family transfer him safely as it is becoming more and more difficult. Insurance will not pay for the lift. I am looking to raise $5,000.00 to assist in the cost of the lift and make this part of my life safer and smoother.
