David Rose Medical Bills
Donation protected
Pagosa Springs resident, David Rose was recently diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer. The diagnosis came after several months of David fighting severe shingles and came as a shock to all.
Cancer is an expensive diagnosis. David and his wife Cathy have completed his third week of radiation and chemotherapy treatments in Durango. Treatment requires the couple to leave their home and spend the week in a hotel near the hospital an hour away where he gets treatment. The American Cancer Society is generously providing lodging and gas vouchers for the couple.
In the interim process between shingles and cancer, David was flown by medical helicopter to Pueblo for diagnosis and the bills are piling up. David and Cathy are proud people who have been vibrant supporters of our local community. But health issues have depleted their savings. David suffered a heart attack several years ago and they were just about to pay off the debt from that medical crisis when this one hit.
Because of David's health issues, his kidney functions are not strong and he is unable to handle the heavy doses of chemotherapy drugs given to him. They test him every week before determining what level of treatment he can receive. Through prayer and the support of family and friends, David and Cathy are handling this diagnosis one step at a time. But they are hopeful that David can beat this cancer.
He has several more weeks of intense treatments ahead of him. David and Cathy need our help. They need our support. Please, if you can donate, do so. If you prefer to contact them directly, their address is as follows:
