On March 28, 2017 David was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Colorectal Cancer (Colorectal Cancer that has spread to 3 large spots in the Liver).  To explain a little as family, close friends and others would want to know his story, but also for those who don’t know him…….

David is a wonderful Father of 5 (ages 30 – 18), and has been married to his wife Trisha for half their lives. Most of the kids in town know him as “Coach” as he has coached Little League for years and then Youth Football for years. When he isn’t coaching he is the one in the local football stands that I am sure you have all heard (if attending Corning’s Football games) the famous shout out to the team “Hit Somebody”. He is a Building Inspector for Glenn County, well educated, and such a great guy.

After a routine colonoscopy, finding a large spot, resulting in many tests with several Doctors, doing all the MRI’s, PET’s, X-ray’s, CT Scan’s, many vials of blood, biopsies and a panel of 10 specialist’s going over everything together in one room - 2 different times to insure they were on the correct path, he was scheduled with a Doctor at Enloe Cancer Center in Chico. What a fabulous place and what amazing people, they really are on a whole different level of caring people.

The Doctor gave the news that is was in fact stage 4 metastatic colorectal cancer, the spot on the colon is very low and in one of the worse spots possible, but if shrunk they may still be able to get around it 'possibly' avoiding a Colostomy bag, however it had definitely spread to the liver in 3 spots that are large and growing rapidly. The Dr. says there is a 15% chance at this time, with 6 - 9 month to live without the chemo (not easy to hear, but not giving in to it either!)  2 of the spots are in the worse places possible and can't just be surgically removed unfortunately.  Aggressive chemotherapy is needed, so he now has a port placed in his chest to administer chemo for 8 weeks to start.  They need to go aggressively at first so he will do his regular 4- 5 hr treatment at the Cancer Center in Chico then have a treatment that he carries on him and administers for 46 hours at a time through the port.  Then possibly an additional 2 weeks if spots are not small enough to do the surgery.  With Radiation to start somewhere in the time line as well as a couple other options the Doctors have suggested. David is very healthy otherwise, so they feel he should react well to the treatments.

He was then referred to UCSF, A Training Hospital in San Francisco; another amazing place.

The Liver Specialist says he has to work on the Liver first over the other, as the Chemo will also work at the same time to shrink the colorectal cancer. On a scale of 1 to 10 of difficulty he will be an 8, but willing to take on the challenge for sure and felt he had a very good chance. He will be traveling with his wife Trisha to UCSF for appointments and the liver surgery will be at UCSF with a 2 week stay, but only after the chemo has worked it’s magic in shrinking the spots. UCSF gave more hope and there is no giving in, He will slay this dragon. (then on to 2nd surgery)

10 weeks ago the family (supporting Dad) went to full Certified Organic, non GMO, no sugar, no labels (clean eating) foods. Along with supplements in assisting better health and cancer fighting ingredients, including immune builders and chemo assisting naturals. There is many many many hours of studying the proper foods (No “kill cancer overnight” remedies) but “proven” cancer fighters. Of course with the assistance of his local nutritionalist (and very close friend) who he has complete trust in.

The family has had Doctor bills flowing in above what they ever thought imaginable causing a stress level not good in cancer cases for David, the traveling has been and will be greatly expensive over the next year, time off work for appointments, chemo fatigue possibly making him lose additional days from work and taking on the changes in eating expensive foods to battle this disease.  Please help them in their time of need, anything helps monetarily as well as they ask for all prayers and wholesomely believe in the power of prayer.

They hear all the stories, they have been told all the miracle cures, and have been given personal diagnosis from many. But they have studied and are on a path to beat this as each case is so very individually different and unique. Please help them lower the stress level while battling this terrible disease.

All proceeds will go direct to David and his family… and the Parker Family Thanks You in advance.  There is a pride factor he is now having to overlook as him and his family are always the one to help but not ask for help. So, they Thank You again from the bottom of their heart.
