Aid David Martinez's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
We’re creating this account on behalf of our father, David Martinez, who suffered a serious brain stem stroke on Saturday, March 8th. The doctors were very surprised he survived it. He has had the breathing tube removed from his mouth and had a tracheostomy. We’re currently working on making that trach tube smaller and to eventually have it capped with him breathing on his own through his mouth. We can’t wait to hear him talk again. Due to this tragic event, his road to recovery is going to be a long, hard one. With that, he will not be going back to work. We have been told he will need 24/7 care for at least 12-16 months.
Along with medical expenses, we’re asking to help out in any way possible on an Early Retirement Fund.
His wife, Christine, is at the hospital by his side every day, along with his son Dominic and his family: Adilene, Lolo, and Ellia. His daughter Tabatha and her family: Garrett, Kaylee, and Kane flew in the day it happened and, along with her brother, have been giving non-stop support.
David has had lots of visitors from both family and friends, but Christine will need lots of help as well. With these kinds of unforeseen circumstances, you tend to forget about the little things like parking and meals while taking care of a loved one in the hospital. Any donation you can give will help greatly and take some of the weight off our moms shoulders.
Please keep him in your thoughts and continue to send prayers. Every day he’s made more progress, so we know they’re working and appreciate all the prayers and blessings received already.
