My parents have always been two of the kindest people you'd ever hope to meet.  Gladly willing to lend a hand or help someone in need.  My dad was quick with a joke while my mom, Helen, had a smile and a hug at the ready.  They only had one child, but "adopted" several of their nieces, nephews, and my friends.  The house was always full of life.  They were married for 56 years and lived a full if simple life. 

My father, David Cecil, passed away yesterday, 4 November. He had long been fighting cirrhosis (due to a fatty liver).  Over the last few months his health had gotten much worse.  Then on 15 Oct, we were told he had end stage liver cancer.  The prognosis was 4 to 12 weeks.  We were lucky enough that he had his mental facilities till the end, and he did not overly suffer. 

It has been a whirlwind of things to do the last few weeks, and it is amazing how all of the little things have added up.  I've started this fund to help my mother pay for the medical bills, funeral expenses, and associated costs.  It's very  humbling to have to ask.  I only wish I could help more.  Please help as you can.  Any donation no matter how small will help ease the stress and financial burden.
