Monday, February 22nd 2016 : Downtown Santa Cruz.  

U.S. Military Veteran, Musician, Songwriter, Outdoorsman, Tracker, and stalwart enviromental commuter advocate Dave Grove was riding home from work on his biciycle when a motorist executed an illegal U-Turn from a parked position.  To avoid colliding with the car, Dave turned sharply and flipped over the handle bars, slamming onto the pavement resulting in a broken scapula, three broken ribs, a pneumothorax (collapsed lung), AC Separation, and numerous abrasions.

The driver of the car did not stop.  There were witnesses to the accident who reported the car type and color, but nobody got a license plate number.

Dave is a caretaker who works with adult Veterans with Disabilities.  Part of his job requires regular amounts of heavy lifting and gentle hands. 

 Now he will be unable to perform his duties and will not be able to work to make ends meet, pay bills, and cover medical expenses.  Please help Dave by making a donation that will ease the harship caused by a most unfortunate accident.
