Graduate School Summer Funding
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Dave, and I am a graduate student at Utah State University. I study medical entomology, which means I study insects (bugs) that transmit diseases to people, like malaria and Lyme disease. Specifically, I study sand flies, which are very similar to mosquitoes. They are very small flies, but they have big consequences as they transmit a disease called leishmaniasis which is found in South America, Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
This upcoming summer (2015), our lab has run out of funding for me, and I am looking for your help to raise enough money for me to be able to pay for my bills (rent, food, etc) so that I can stay in Logan and continue my research this summer. This funding is needed for June, July, and August at which time in September, I will be paid again as a teaching assistant.
If you would like to hear more about my research, don't hesitate to ask me. I want you to understand how your donations are supporting me.
