I'm so sorry for asking for help. The outcome of this fundraiser will determine my next steps.

Our AC went out on Monday the 19th at 5:13 pm, with the outside temperature at 103 degrees. I have 3 boys aged 14, 11, and 8, and two dogs, one of which is an elderly husky.

So, the compressor is shot. The problem is that my unit is so old that they no longer make the compressor nor that freon. My bonus Grampi (retired HVAC and Journeyman) can get a different compressor etc in order to keep the current coils ($1800), or replace compressor, coils, standard parts (up to $3000), or replace with a new 5ton-14seer ($13,000). Grampi has contacted his wholesale guy and is waiting on a quote. Any dollar amount would help, even if it's $1.

***UPDATE, so far I have collected $8049.86. Ken McKnight is the cheapest by far and I have used them before. His company is very professional and truly cares about his clients. For a 5ton unit it will include electric heat system including new base filter, pan, drain, safety switch, new programmable thermostat, new supply plenum, new ductwork for the converted bedroom, labor, and sales tax= $10980. I only need $2930.14 to get this fixed OR $835 to drop to a 4 ton (heat system, new filter base, thermostat, drain safety switch, labor and sales tax)****
