Early in the morning of October 15, my younger brother and best man passed away and went to heaven. Daniel Charles Winter was a good person wth a big heart. He was kind, loving, funny, clever and incredibly intelligent. He was also anxious, shy, reserved and was not truly dealt a fair hand in the game of life.
He leaves behind many loving family members mainly a special 6 year old son Dylan who has autism. He also leaves behind his parents and siblings who have all fought for him every step of the way and love him unconditionally.
Daniel has positively impacted many people in his life. Those who have truly known him have experienced a loyal person who they have quickly connected with. He was a modest man of average means who worked hard to get by. He did not have much and our family will struggle to provide the type of service that Daniel deserves.
Daniel works with our father and they completely rely on each other on the job. They also live together so the dynamic is that of father/son, roommate, employer/employee and best friend. Take a moment to digest that. Without Daniel, our father may struggle to get by.
It appears the average funeral costs around $10,000. We will do our best to honor Daniel's memory by having a celebration of life worthy of his uniqueness. We are also raising funds to ensure that our father is able to survive financially in the grieving period hence the original goal of $14,000. After the overwhelming support and numerous requests to assist, we have increased the goal to $20,000. This will allow us to do a few nice things for Daniel's 6 year old son Dylan.
Many friends and family members have reached out and asked how they can support. Our family would be forever grateful for donations to this fund so that we all collectively can appropriately say goodbye to Daniel.
