Please share this story on your social media platforms as Daniel & Matt need all the help they can get……

For those that don’t know the beginning… early 2020
Matt was involved in a horrible car wreck and broke his neck in 4 places. c1 c2 c3 & c4.
Also broke 30 fractures throughout the front and back ribs. Broke the sternum as well. Also broke left femur. Shattered left knee, and broke right fibula. Spent many many months in surgeries…therapy.. rest and recuperation.
Just as we were learning what the “New” normal was going to be … Daniel started having some weird stomach pains and then one night on New Year’s Eve all of a sudden Daniel says I have to go to the ER NOW . He had intense pain that hit him out of nowhere. He knew something wasn’t right.. so off we went…

So unexpectedly, A little over a year ago now,
Daniel went into the ER in terrible pain & feeling severely ill  on New Years Eve 2024.
We were not expecting this at all. But the ER Doctor told us after many tests that they found out that Daniel is very very sick….
  • Daniel was diagnosed with cancer again for the 2nd time and he’s still only in his 30s. So far they see cancer in his intestines, they see it in his liver, (quite big .. 9cm by 5cm inside the liver) and unfortunately they found it in both of his lungs too…
  • Daniel is an amazing caring giving person who truly cares about everyone else besides himself. He gives away his last dollar and the shirt off his back all the time, and I’m not just saying that. It’s the truth.
  • He is in a lot of pain and is currently under Oncology and palliative care. Both teams are doing their best to make him comfortable. While also treating him with the best chemotherapy for his condition.
  • They are keeping up with blood work and scans and rechecks every few weeks, so his team is definitely ontop of it, and I Have GREAT faith in them and love and trust them with all my heart.

We are asking for help as medical bills and what comes along with it are unfortunately very expensive.

As many others know, Daniel is the hard worker and the muscle in our little family. He is our Primary Income earner, & was the only one physically capable of working before he got sick. And over this past year he has been too sick to work, and despite a cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy treatment our government has DENIED him for disability. It took 9 months of waiting w/ no income to receive their decision of denial. We have now hired a lawyer to help get Dan the benefits he deserves and needs. Without social security benefits of health insurance and monthly income..the bills/groceries/rent/gas/payments of any kind..electricity..cell & internet..etc. cannot be paid..
Daniel is the one that takes care of Matt and makes sure that Matt is safe and okay on a daily basis. Luckily Matt's parents are there to help with laundry, grocery shopping, and helping when bills are way past over due. Dan's family has also been very supportive and are always there to offer that emotional support when it feels like everything is crashing in.

Now we know Daniel's story and newly developing journey with fighting Cancer.

  • But there's also another battle on our hands.

Daniels spouse Matt suffers from a very RARE bone disease called OSTEOGENESIS IMPERFECTA.

  • Or more famously known as the "glass bone disease".

  •  Matt breaks bones from just sneezing .. and that is not a joke. Matt needs Daniel strong and healthy and Matt needs to come up with the funds to try and pay his medication copays ($400+) monthly and of course RENT.

  • This does not include bills, groceries , and the very important Medical Devices & repairs. Matt's wheelchair alone is a $4000+ chair. Which is heavily relyed on after  Matt's devestating car accident a few years ago.
  • We are also trying to find a downstairs handicapped accessible apartment if anyone has ideas or suggestions please reach out.
Especially when Matt is going through surgeries or when he has broken bones and other unexpected medical events. Dan is the one who fights hard to get the strength to take care of Matt. Especially when his family is not around.
We not only need monetary help, so Dan can get the care he needs for the cancer but so he can use his energy to fight the cancer and not have to worry about his & Matt's medical copays…and so we can pay rent and our bills of course ..along with cost of treatment, copays, medicines, medical supplies and repairs that insurance does not always cover and even hiring extra help for us/household while Daniel is recovering and while Matt constantly navigates different broken bones and surgeries. So many expenses, diagnosis and so many constantly changing variables, it's truly hard for us to keep fighting and to keep our heads on straight.
Daniel has a long rough road ahead of him, but the chemotherapy has shown some positive progress so far. And so does Matt. Despite his daily pain and 3 surgeries just in the past 1&1/2 years. Matt will be by Dan’s side taking care of him as best as he can, just as Dan has always done for him.

  • We want to try to raise money not only for dans treatments, procedures, medications & care but also to help Matt and Daniel to not have to worry any more than they have too. STRESS about rent and bills, groceries, medicine copays is the LAST thing they need to worry about.

Their bills and finances are going to end up being the last thing on their mind, so please if you can … anything that you can spare, even a dollar will truly make a difference for them during this extremely hard and difficult time.

  • Most recent UPDATE 6/10/25

  • In February Dan fell severely ill and was admitted to the hospital where they discovered he was septic with a blood infection. With a fever of 104 and not aware of anything around him, he fought super hard and recovered and made it safely back home. Daniel is at home resting and enjoying quality time with family and the kitties. He has been handling chemo well and had no crazy scares since then. He is currently still on chemotherapy and goes in for another CT scan check up in just a few weeks. The tumors have shrunk some since the very beginning and there’s still other treatment options if it’s needed in the future. But so far we have had GREAT DOCTORS & Great response to the chemo.  We do still have a long way to go though. One step at a time… and it’s working best like that for us right now.

  • Matt’s Update 6/10/25

  • Since Dans diagnosis Matt first broke his left arm and had it surgically repaired. Then this past Valentine’s Day (the same week Dan was admitted for life threatening sepsis) Matt fell and broke his arm in 3 places and dislocated the elbow. After 11 days in hospital it was surgically repaired and is home with Dan both of them trying to build up their strength .

  • Daniel continues to see his team of oncologists, palliative care doctors, primary care doctors and everyone else who is helping Daniel fight this cancer journey.

  • Matt also continues to keep up     with his surgeons/specialists and primary care doctors so he can stay as healthy as possible in order to stay strong for Daniel.

Thank you for your time your love and kindness and amazing support. And please please share this with your friends and social media even if they do not know who we are. Thanks guys
