Hoping for a Miracle

Hi, I’m Jayden, Daniel Roepke’s daughter. I am writing this for help in any possible way and to share my dads story.

Dad went to the drs thinking he might have a hernia, turned out it was much more than that. After trips to Abbott, scans, and blood draws, January 2022, he was diagnosed with a rare genetic aggressive stage 4 T cell non Hodgkin’s lymphoma. They put in a port and he went through chemotherapy. My dad was then told he made it to remission and was planning to use his own bone marrow to do the stem cell transplant.

Then in July he had a headache for a week, the drs then gave him the worst news ever… the cancer was in his brain. He is #26 in cases reported to have both types, T cell & B cell. They immediately started to focus on getting rid of the B cell cancer on his brain.

At this point he has had around 40 radiation appointments. He has been out of work for a year now, multiple types of chemo that require hospital stays for multiple days, he has been on a chemo pill, steroids to keep down the inflammation which is causing swelling and fluid build up, going through pet scans, cat scans, mri’s, blood draws. My dad is also diabetic now, due to the steroids. It just isn’t working, the cancer is far too aggressive. At this point there are limited options left… He’s only 46 years old.

This is all just a glimpse of what’s been going on. This hasn’t been an easy journey for my dad, my mom, my brother, myself, my grandparents, my daughter, etc. We’re all watching him suffer with nothing any of us can do to help other than being there for support. It’s crushing and heartbreaking. My dad doesn’t wish this upon anyone. He is the most selfless, caring, kind man who would do anything to help someone out. I can’t believe this is all happening. I can’t believe I am writing this.
