Dana Stout-Wilson Route 91 Recovery

My name is Jessica Stout-Ryder. My sister Dana Stout-Wilson was a victim of the Route 91 tragedy just 9 days ago.  Dana and her friend Karen were both shot while running away from the stage as the shots rang out.  Dana was shot twice in the leg and her friend Karen was shot in the abdomen.  After they were hit and on the ground, Dana managed to convince Karen that they needed to get up and keep running.  As they did, Dana supported Karen until a stranger grabbed her and rushed her away to the hospital.  Dana then hid behind something and while there, strangers were performing CPR on one victim while another lie there.  Dana grabbed the young girl's hand to let her know she was not alone......only to realize that she was already gone.  A stranger came by and told my sister to run, and so she ran again until someone put her in the back of a truck and took her to the hospital.   Dana is a middle school Physical Education teacher in Redlands, Ca.  She has had to use her remaining sick days as she is not physically or mentally ready to return back to work.  Dana does not want to ask for help as she doesn't want to take away from victims more gravely injured or from families who have lost someone.  Myself and Dana's friend Geri are organizing this for Dana.  The hope is that Dana may get some financial relief as medical bills begin to come and to recuperate the loss of pay she will have as a result of missing work.  We also hope that with a little financial help, she can take the time needed to recover both mentally and physically from this senseless, tragic event that has caused so much damage and heartache to so many of us.  Any money not used to cover expense s related to this tragedy will be donated to other victims. Please continue to pray for Vegas, for all the victims, for the families affected and for those who were lost or injured.  Thank you for your support.  There is still good out there!
