On behalf of our 83-year-old father, Dan Sturgeon, we are starting this GoFundMe in hopes of assisting him with the cost of medical care.

After fighting an infection in his foot for months, Dan required a below-the-knee amputation of his left leg a few days before Christmas on December 21st. Upon leaving the hospital on January 10th, he will need 24-hour care until his amputation is fully healed, and he is measured for a prosthetic. Even with family support, the hired care is expected to cost more than $1,500 per week. Unfortunately, his insurance does not cover the cost of this required care.

These medical costs follow the heavy emotional and financial burdens experienced during our mother, Nancy Sturgeon's 2-year fight with Glioblastoma, which she passed away from in late 2021. Dan has been struggling with complications of the infection since. Medical expenses are quickly becoming a concern.

Dan is optimistic and eager to regain his mobility.
