My sister-in-law, Lisa has had a long road, living with the worst case of rheumatoid arthritis I have ever heard of, which began over 30 years ago and has included over 20 major surgeries. Through it all she has managed to keep positive and shower love on Dan (my twin brother) and their two precious little girls, Allie and Natalie. Dan has been faithful in caring for her needs, yet being far from the help and encouragement of family and friends, these times have taken a toll on both Dan & Lisa.
Lisa is getting ready for another surgery, this month, which will put her off her feet (literally in a wheel chair) for about 6 weeks. This brings me to the #1 reason I am asking for you to consider helping them: Medical bills. Medical bills have always been a part of their lives together, and I know they are forced to live weekly not knowing when the bills will ever end and they will finally be out from under medical debt.
Dan has a good Job, yet to take care of Lisa, he will be forced to use leave without pay, because he has used up his paid leave on her previous surgeries, the latest of which was only 2 months ago. This is the #2 reason I am asking you to consider giving to this cause.
Lisa keeps on keeping on, and somehow accepts her responsibilities and the constant pain as just a way of life. I know Lisa would be greatly encouraged by you making the effort to extend to her a financial love gift, which is my #3 reason for asking you to consider giving.
I am Dan's brother, yet more than that, I consider him my best friend. I often feel empathy for him, as I know he hurts inside, dealing with this and other issues in his life. Dan needs encouragement, as I know he is running low on faith and energy. This is my # 4 reason to ask you to consider giving.
God is a God of love, who delights in meeting needs. I ask you to prayerfully consider giving today, to help Dan & Lisa through these trying times. I pray that what you give would be multiplied in their lives and that you would also be blessed by giving.
The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 13:13, "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
I pray that through our collective acts of Love Dan & Lisa's Faith & Hope might be restored.
God Bless,
Tim Hughes
