Dakota Michael David Hresan
Dakota Michael David Hresan
Born on January 13, 2018
Weight: 6 lbs 2 oz. Length: 19 1/4"
About two weeks before Dakota was born, an ultrasound taken at St. Peter's Hospital diagnosed our precious little boy with a rare complex congenital hear defect, Corrected "L" Transposition with complete heart block.
St. Peter's hospital doctors stated, " they would only be able to administer palliative care upon delivery". So, the chairman of the department at St. Peters called in a Cardiac Specialist from the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to see if they would take on this case.
CHOP immediately accepted and Tara was scheduled for an immediate C-section. After Dakota was born, he not only had the complex heart defect, Corrected "L" Transposition with a Complete Heart Block, but also had two holes in his heart, a PDA and VSD. One of these holes actually saved his life.
Dakota has had 3 surgeries to date including two open heart surgeries and a surgery to place a line to the heart for medication delivery. He's gone into congestive heart failure twice, needed a blood transfusion and on the third day of life needed a pacemaker.
Dakota will eventually need a major open-heart surgery to rebuild his heart when he is more stable and stronger. Hopefully, he can stay stable long enough to gain weight and mature a little more.
We are asking if you could please help us raise funds for Cody and Tara so they may be able to be with their baby in Philadelphia during these difficult times. The money would be used for food, lodging, transportation, parking and medical expenses.
This is going to be a long journey for this family with many outpatient appointments and future surgeries throughout Dakota's life.
So, if you could find it in your heart to please donate, so that this family may cherish the birth of their new son, Dakota, and not on the financial aspects of his condition, it would be such a blessing.
