In Memory of Isagani Sanga

On October 23, 2022 my dad, Isagani Sanga passed away. He was diagnosed with CKD and eventually that resulted in his kidney being removed. His life the past few years has consisted of constantly going in and out of the hospital, dialysis three times a week, and taking medication that was helping him but at the same time weakening him because of the side effects.

His condition worsened and fluid in his lungs made breathing difficult.

But he fought. And he fought hard. But sometimes the will to fight is not always in sync with the body. He fought til his last breath, passing in the comfort of his home which was one of his last wishes. They tried to bring him back at the hospital, but by then he was gone.

One of the best things about my father is that he was a great provider. He did his absolute best to make sure his family was well off and more. He had old school values and wasn’t good at expressing love but he made up for it in many ways. Extremely giving and caring but also incredibly stubborn. He just had to have it his way. He wasn’t perfect, but he sure as hell did his best. And he was loved, so very loved. We’re going to miss him so much.

It’s going to take time to adjust. It’ll be strange to wake up and remember that he’s not in his room with the air conditioning on blast while watching his favorite filipino soap operas, but we know that he’s still watching over us.
