In the summer of 2022 DuniaFore acquired land on the Western Peninsula of Sierra Leone to build a cultural center! Nestled into the lush, beautiful foothills of Sierra Leone's Western Area Peninsula, DuniaFore Sierra Leone will build DuniaFore Cultural Center on approximately 4 acres of land allotted for its development.
DuniaFore Cultural Center is conceptualized as a multi-use, event, learning, arts, educational and cultural complex that serves as an activities, welcoming center and hub for esteemed guests and visitors from Sierra Leone, Africa, the Diaspora and all over the world.
THE MISSION OF THE CENTER IS:
-To Promote Cultural Education
-To Create Programming that Serves and Brings People Together
-To Serve as a hub for the African and global community
-To Promote Ecological Conscientiousness
DuniaFore Cultural Center’s model is SUSTAINABILITY-both ecological and economical. Designed on permaculture principles, the center will be 100% off grid and self-sufficient. From the construction of its buildings with on-site self-manufactured stabilized compressed earth bricks to its solar power and independent water system, Duniafore Cultural Center will have its own infrastructure to insure reliable, consistent and low cost functionality.
Conscientious phased development of its elements is the key to the center’s sustainability. By phasing in the construction of its EcoVillage, two story pavilion, 1500 person amphitheatre and main cultural center building, the center will be more than able of generating the revenues necessary to subsidize ongoing free programming to children and community members after the completion of Phase 2. In this way, DuniaFore Cultural Center guarantees its independence and longevity, assuring that it will be a legacy in place for people to enjoy for many years to come.
