At Dock Street School we believe that arts education is a critical part of our mission to build lifelong learners. Our programs benefit scholars in every grade and have enabled Dock Street graduates to attend exceptional schools like Brooklyn Tech, Brooklyn Latin School, LaGuardia and Frank Sinatra Performing Arts High Schools.
Your donations make it possible for our school to offer music, drama, dance, and art to every student, every week. Arts education adds to language and reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, and allows cultural expression. This is in addition to our outstanding STEM curriculum.
Unfortunately, much of our music and arts programs aren’t funded by the city. We need help from parents and the community to make them possible. Please chip in today to help us continue funding our music and arts programs!
Your financial contribution will fund:
-Instruments and music lessons for the brass band
-Microphones and other stage equipment for our Choir
-Costumes and theater tickets for Drama
-Trips to performances for our Dance Troupe as well as costumes and stage equipment
-International visual arts programs & art appreciation
The PTA works hard to support our children and make Dock Street an outstanding school. We use all the money we raise to fund the additional resources parents want—and the school needs—that aren’t in the school budget.
Every year, the Dock Street School PTA’s fundraising efforts have grown, which means we’re able to do more for our children. We are hoping to raise a total of $10,000 through this year-end campaign, events throughout the year, and grants. But if we can raise more, we can do more! Together, we can make it happen.
