Sixteen struck with Sarcoma...

Donation protected
17 YEAR OLD TORONTO BOY WITH THE MOST RARE FORM OF CANCER (DSRCT).... One of the most rare form of Cancer (Sarcoma) hit this child in his prime.
My name is Sherry Williams.  I've created this campaign to raise funds for my best friends son who has been diagnosed with this very rare cancer.....
His mother who has raised both him and his little brother on her own with no help from the father/family life has been turned upside down and she has had to take a leave from work to be there for her son as he goes through this horrific time in his young life.
This rare Sarcoma is Desmoplastic. It's small round blue cell tumors (DSRCT's).
They are a highly aggressive and rare mesenchymal tumor that requires very aggressive extensive treatment.
Unfortunately, the survival/success rate is 15%, and although they hope to be writing a success story with him being the 16th, with some highly aggressive chemo and then radiation in hopes that the 3 large masses in his abdomen will have shrunk enough to then operate and remove what's left of it 15% are not the best odds.
To make matters worse, he has 2 spots that have mastated to his liver.
This cancer is so uncommon that there is not a lot of research that has been done which makes treatment harder.
The chemo medication he's being treated with is not for his "type" of Cancer.
They claim they can't really measure it in stages, but if they could his cancer (DSRCT) would be stage 1.
Which doesn't sound so bad but coupled with the 2 spots on his liver that the cancer is now attacking they say it turns
it into more of a stage 4.
There are only approximately 300–400 cases have been described so far in the WORLD!
DSRCT was reported as a separate identity in 1989 The fact that it’s metastasized to liver is not a good thing.
With so few victims of it who have had a life span of 1- 5 years at best....
We were told that the odds are against him and hopefully with proper care he might have a year to live or he could last for 3.
With all that said, he truly is a brave boy, who we know doesn't realize the extent of his illness, but also that the doctors have said not only is there only a 15% success rate for treatment but that he could also only live 1-3 years, should treatment work out for him. He says he's not afraid to die.....
He has allowed for the doctors/teams to guinea pig him taking both good and bad cells, lots of blood samples and several tests in order for them to find a treatment for this exact cancer that so little is known about.
He does this that in hopes there will a good treatment in place to help the next boy after him that falls victim to this horrendous disease.
Unfortunately, selfishly death is always hardest on the living.
The fact that his single mother who raised both him and his younger brother alone since birth she's now had to take a leave from work as she's now become an around the clock novice nurse having to learn how to change dressings, administer several meds several times a day everyday, drain PICC lines, all while commuting back and forth to Sick Kids with a 2 plus hour drive 2-6 times a week depending on the week.

As much as its time to put pride aside, I'm asking for donations of any size to help facilitate this entire process, to pay for medications that are not covered by insurance coverage, and to make this boy's life the most memorable for the time he shares with us on this earth.
As the boy is estranged from his father/family, he'd prefer to keep his condition to himself, and would like to keep this anonymous, which is why his face is cut out of the photo and his or his mothers name have not been mentioned.
We will however be glad to give you information or answer any of your questions via email/inbox, ect.
We ask for your well wishes and prayers.
For any information with resources, or funds please contact us @ [email redacted] and I'll get back to you.
As far as his mother goes, you can imagine that her thoughts are so consumed with the health of her oldest child, the last thing we need is for her to have concerns about being able to pay her mortgage or feed her family and maintain her household.....
These funds that have been donated will help facilitate her bills, any medications that are not covered by insurance, make sure her mortgage gets paid to ensure her son continues to have the comforts of his childhood home hes grown up in.  Living & maintaining stress free while his mother is unable to work while he's ill and going through this long agressive
Anything you can do to help would be more than a blessing.
