DRSS Ohio Historical Marker Project
Donation protected
After completing units on the experience of women and African Americans in their U.S. History class, students completed and submitted applications to the Ohio History Connection proposing Ohio Historical Markers for African Americans and women from the Miami Valley Area. To complete their applications, students consulted with experts from the University of Dayton, Wright State University, Wittenberg University, the Dayton Policie History Foundation and the Kettering Police Department as they produced their work.
In the end, the Ohio History Connection approved five historical markers! (see the News Article from Wright State and the Dayton Daily News about their achievements).
Now that the students have gained approval, the task of raising money comes next. Each of the markers costs approximately $2500. While the students are actively seeking specific donors, we are setting up this account to help fill in the gaps. Any amount will help.
If you have a specific marker which you are specifically interested in funding, please be sure to indicate that in your comments!
