Program is about 90K. Graduate Loans are Not really available, so I need to raise money myself to pay for school.
Bio:
I was born and raised in Moss Beach, CA—a small, close-knit coastal town just south of San Francisco. After earning my B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California, Riverside, I immersed myself in research under an inorganic chemistry professor and later contributed to a collaborative research project at UC Santa Cruz. These experiences sparked my passion for scientific discovery and solidified my interest in using data to solve real-world problems.
Professionally, I spent eight years working in an analytical testing facility, where I served as Lab Director and oversaw Quality Assurance. I developed deep expertise in using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), gas chromatography (GC), and a wide range of spectroscopic tools—skills that remain foundational to my approach in problem-solving and inquiry. I’m particularly drawn to UCSF’s cutting-edge research capabilities, which offer a unique opportunity to explore the underlying physiological mechanisms of the nervous system and further understand how targeted, evidence-based rehabilitation can be applied to patient care.
While I worked in analytical world, I ultimately felt called to make a more direct, human-centered impact. That shift was deeply influenced by my father’s battle with cancer and the transformative care he received at UCSF. More recently, my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and is now receiving treatment at UCSF as well. Witnessing the extraordinary level of care, compassion, and innovation that UCSF has provided to both of my parents has inspired me to give back in the most meaningful way I can—by helping others through their own healing journeys. And giving futuristic tools and guidance to an unserved community of the coastal town, where I group up.
Now back in California, I am applying to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at UCSF, with a special interest in oncology rehabilitation. I currently coach at Orangetheory Fitness and will complete my (CPT) license in June 2025. Under the mentorship of Kanchan “KK”—a clinician with a Master’s in Sports and Musculoskeletal Disorders and experience across inpatient, skilled nursing, and orthopedic outpatient care—I’ve deepened my understanding of individualized, holistic rehabilitation.
Looking ahead, I hope to expand access to high-quality healthcare and rehabilitation services in underserved rural communities like my hometown—ensuring that no one’s healing is limited by where they live. What UCSF has given to my family, I hope to give to others.
Would love any donation.
