And then we got even luckier - our research paper on this project was accepted to be presented in the beginning of July at the biggest Digital Humanities Conference in the world, Kraków's DH2016!
This is awesome, but we will need more than luck to get to the conference for this presentation. We need you.
Our school's Undergraduate Conference Travel program isn't designed to cover international travel. Maybe nobody expects undergrads to get invited to international conferences. If so, we've beaten the odds. But even with what our school can offer, neither Ben nor I can afford this on our own.
And if we can't go, then our paper presentation will have to be pulled from the conference producer's planned lineup. :-(
This why we are asking for enough money to cover flights to Poland from the U.S. for both of us, as well as hotel rooms. We'll need the funding by the middle of June so we don't have to worry about last-minute price increases.
We want the chance to positively represent Penn State, to contribute to the evidence that video games are more than just a toy, and to share our findings like any researcher hopes to.
Please help us achieve this important scholarly experience that will make our time spent researching worthwhile and also make our résumés and cirricula vitae stand out.
