My name is Ben I am 12 years old I have struggled with acheivement in school for years because I experience issues in the classroom due to sensory processing disorder, anxiety and depresion . This makes focusing at school super hard, I try  and try, My mom has helped me find special therapy and a tutor after school to allow me to stay in a general education classroom at my school and work to find ways to self regulate.

One thing is, I am a super good reader and love history, (really most stories). This has helped me get through the harder parts of school (math).  In preparing for middle school to start and I have an opportunity to visit Washington DC, for 6 days.  I am so excited but it costs a lot of money, money my family can't afford, I am collecting cans, washing cars, selling wreaths and cookie dough but could use all the help I can get.

This trip could really change my life, an opportunity to help me learn  in a hands on place, make friends, work on gaining the skills of my peers and most important give me hope for my future.
