Men Don’t Ride Alone
What started as a crazy idea became the biggest challenge of our lives.
My name is Valentin Duquenne, and after reflecting on my own struggles with mental health, that included over a weeks stay in a hospital for substance abuse problems, I kept asking myself one question:
“Now that I feel healed how can I make a real difference in other men’s lives?”
That question became this journey.
Together with my friend, Thomas Clark, we’re cycling across Canada from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific—to raise $250,000 for men’s mental health.
The crazy part?
We started this with no cycling experience.
We’re both athletic, but before this project we hadn’t seriously ridden a bike in years and never a road bike.
We knew this ride would push us to our physical and mental limits, and that’s exactly why we chose it.
Because every single day, thousands of men wake up and fight battles that nobody else can see.
Too many men suffer in silence.
Too many believe they have to carry everything on their own.
Too many families have experienced the heartbreak of losing someone they love because those conversations never happened.
This ride isn’t about proving how tough we are.
It’s about proving that asking for help is one of the strongest things a person can do.
Along the way, we’ve already experienced incredible kindness from complete strangers. People believed in this mission before it even began donating bikes, offering places to stay, cheering us on, sharing our story, and reminding us why we started.
This journey has shown us that there is so much good in this country.
Throughout our ride, we’re documenting through daily videos, social media, interviews, and community events. We want people to experience every high, every low, every challenge, and every conversation that comes from this mission.
If even one man decides to reach out for help because of this ride, every pedal stroke will have been worth it.
Our goal is to raise $250,000 to support men’s mental health initiatives and help ensure more Canadians have access to the support they need.
Every donation no matter the amount helps move this mission forward.
If you can’t donate, sharing our story, following the journey, or simply talking about men’s mental health is just as valuable.
This isn’t just our ride anymore.
It’s a movement built by thousands of people who believe that no man should have to fight alone.
We ride for the men still fighting.
We ride for the conversations that need to happen.
We ride for the families who have lost loved ones.
We ride for hope.
Because men don’t ride alone.
Thank you for believing in us and for becoming part of this journey.
