Bilbao-Lisbon Charity Cycle for Childens Medical Aid in Gaza

In June 2024, the Cycledelics will set off from Bilbao to Lisbon for Medical Aid in Gaza. The epic cycle travels coastal through the perilous terrain of Northern Spain and past the coastal beauty of Western Portugal where we will reach our destination of Lisbon.

You may or may not have heard of us already! Here's a little about us...

Our crew consists of its 3 founding members: Stefano "Gooch of Steel" Forte, Jack "Golden Calves" Farrelly and Luke "Iron Glutes" Mannion. As with past journeys, we will have some of our friends join us along the way. This time Lucien 'Loose Screws' Topolski will be part of the team, alongside some other friends who may join us for part of the way.

In the first edition four years ago, €3600 was raised for the Irish Refugee Council when we circumnavigated the island of Ireland. Two years later €4000 was donated as we continued to cycle the Celtic coastline, covering Bray to Bilbao, cycling though Southern Wales, the South-West coast of England, through France and finish in Bilbao.

We were absolutely blown away by the level of generosity from friends, family, strangers and supporters of the Irish Refugee Council. It's truly amazing what people can achieve when we come together ❤

In June 2024 we pick up where we left off in Bilbao. Our journey has an estimated total distance of approximately 2000km, we aim to complete this in 30 days. While this distance is similar to our last two journeys, we are expecting it to be our hardest one yet with the Summer sun on our backs + gradients to make your eyes water and your calves scream as we will be cycling up 23000 metres in total. That's the equivalent of cycling up mount Everest 3 times!

While there are a plethora of charities to choose from, we have decided to raise money for independent charity The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children’s Fund who provide medical attention to the children who need it the most in the war in Palestine headed by Israel. Your donations help relieve the medical sector in Gaza.
