Cycle Across America for Single Moms

Sometimes we forget how precious life truly is! We live our day to day  routine & before we know it, we ask where did all the time go? Time slips by before we ever GIVE back, LIVE, &  EXPLORE the world. "Routine is the enemy of Time"

In 2016, my mom Janice Rice passed away & her life inspires me daily to be grateful for the life we are all so blessed to have. 

In a tribute to my Mom's life & a celebration of LIFE itself as my birthday approaches a day after our departure, I will be Cycling Across America in hopes to raise $30,000+ (let's SURPASS this!!!)  to support in helping Single Mother's financially. We will be departing on May 13th from Astoria, Oregon touching the Pacific Ocean & ending our travels in Savanah, Georgia touching the Atlantic.

We'll be documenting the journey to keep everyone updated & hopefully inspire others to LIVE  & GIVE <3 be sure to spread the love & share the message. As you can imagine, the ride will be tough at times & energetic support will certainly help.

The charity that I have selected to help support this cause is the Warrick Dunn Charities Foundation. As you all may know, Warrick Dunn is a former NFL Running back & his story is one that I connect with deeply.

"Warrick Dunn’s late mother, Betty Smothers, was a single parent who worked tirelessly to achieve the American dream of owning her own home.

As a tribute to her, Warrick established Homes for the Holidays in 1997 to help make home ownership a dream come true for single parent families.

Today, 173 families have been served."

Mom's are the true Superhero's of this world & they need our help. My mom was like so many other single parents out there in this world. She worked 3 Jobs at one point to make ends meet all while taking care of myself .  She somehow still found a way to make it to almost everyone of my academic accolades, sporting events, & big celebrations.

Similar to Warrick's mother, my mom was doing all she could to pay off a mortgage in hopes to own her own home free & clear for her son. I know that if a charity like the Warrick Dunn Charities came around, her life would have been enhanced significantly.

My mom's spirit is still with us, but she was certainly one of the most loving human beings I have ever come across... I may be a little biased ;) but in all seriousness my mom was a real life example True unconditional love. I know that there other Single Mother's similar to my mom, that could use a break like this.
