Crenshaw High Back 2 School : Student Care Package

It's Bigger Than Us is a grassroots movement created by 25 black men, who are alumni of Crenshaw High School. It's Bigger Than Us was created to help transform the social and economic conditions of the Crenshaw High School Community. The group was created to promote unity in response to the unjust murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery and countless other deaths in the black community due to police brutality and racial injustice. The online meetings originally started off as a safe place for black men to hold space with one another. This quickly turned into a collective effort to join together to  plan, organize and mobilize within the Crenshaw High School Community.

It's Bigger Than Us' first group initiative is to donate student care packages to the Crenshaw High School "Back 2 School Event". We would like to reach our goal of donating 500 care packages to students in need. The care packages will include: PPE (personal protective equipment), school supplies and a handwritten card of encouragement. We are calling upon the Crenshaw community and beyond to support this effort by donating to our GoFundMe page. We would like to raise at least $10,000, to provide for those in need, by August 11, 2020. The care packages will be handed out to the students during Open Registration on (August 11- 13, 2020).

We believe that together we can transform our schools and communities. We believe by bringing individuals together that have been impacted by the Crenshaw Community- past or present can help create lasting and impactful change.
