Creating a new future for Stand

The Place at Stand
A place to gather
A place to meet
A place to play Your club for our community

We're looking to bounce back from the Covid crisis with a new outside space at Stand. The concept is create a space that transforms a
run-down pavilion into a multi-use area that is accessible, modern and safe, with the best view in Whitefield.

To do this we need help. We need to raise approximately £30,000 extra in funds to be able to realise this project before the start of next season. Can you help?

A new multi-use outdoor space that will feature:

Outdoor seating
Raised decked area
Atmospheric lighting
Stunning views for the cricket
Easily accessible
Players entrance

Designed by

Part of Whitefield since 1853, and once a popular meeting place, we want to make Stand Cricket Club the centre of Whitefield’s community again. A meeting place for local activities, such as toddler groups, yoga classes business groups.
The go-to family function room to celebrate or to remember. Phase one of our plan is to transform the pavillion, by creating an outdoor space that is accessible, modern and safe, with the best view in Whitefield.

October update

Hello everyone. It’s been over 4 months since we ran our campaign and what a help it has been. I can’t thank you all enough. We even managed some cricket and had about 3 weeks were we could open normally (within reason).

Then the GM lockdown hit us and hit us and other clubs hard. Then further restrictions hit us.

We have decided to open the bar to none members on Friday evenings and Saturdays 3-10 in an effort to keep a revenue stream open, but it’s hard!

See - for more information.

The campaign has and will remain open if anyone can spare a tenner or even more! It all helps. Thanks

Stand Cricket Club has a long and successful history, first established in 1853. We are a volunteer not-for-profit organisation and have worked extremely hard over the last few years to keep going. We currently run three senior teams and four junior teams (U11s, U13s, U14s and U17s). We have a flourishing U18s set up, and during normal times, we would usually have between 50-60 children keeping active and learning cricket on our Friday junior training evenings that take place during the season.

We have a popular function room and we are proud to have become an integral part of the local community.

However, the Covid-19 pandemic means we have absolutely little or no income from function room, bar, sponsorship and membership putting the future of this fantastic local cricket club at risk.

So we're looking for any financial support from our fantastic Whitefield family (and surrounding areas) to help keep our so we’re trying to fundraise to help with essential running costs like utilities, insurance and ground maintenance costs paid so we are ready to start over in 2021.

Any donation would be a step in the right direction for us.

Many thanks
