Create a bog garden in Calderstones Nature Reserve
The Friends of Harthill and Calderstones Park and our team of volunteers are starting work on Phase 2 of the Nature Reserve which is part of the park that was saved from a housing estate being built here by the community .
. We have a wilded trail, a beautiful wild flower meadow and an area of young native trees . We are now set to tackle the problematical area of reinforced concrete ! We have excavated a large area that you can see in the photo and are now ready to turn this it into a beautiful , lush bog garden .

Thanks to Church Ward’s Lib Dem Councillors who are donating £1000 from their Neighbourhood Fund so we can make a start . All donations, to this project , however small, will be gratefully received to fund the purchase of the planting medium , trees , plants and seeds . This will take us a step nearer to our final goal of opening the Nature Reserve to the public
