Covid-19 Australian Arts Relief Online Event

// The Australian entertainment industry has been affected in a big way by social distancing. There are no venues allowed to operate which means the entire industry is at a halt. When I saw the posts in my social media feed from performers saying they have lost their gigs indefinitely it made me worry for them. Performing is their passion, it’s their release and it’s also their main source of income.
Every single performer I called was left in an uncertain position because their 6 gigs per week have now become 0 gigs per week. They were concerned with how they will pay their bills in the upcoming weeks.
I sprung into action because I have a background in project management and film. I called everyone I knew to see if they wanted to get on board for the possibility of creating something together (online) whilst remaining in isolation.

The event will run every Saturday (with a different line up) until everyone is out of isolation.
// The gofundme target achieves paying our performers and support team what they would usually get for a gig, and money raised above and beyond the target will go to charity.
$4,950 gets the performers and support people paid what they would usually get for 1 gig
$9,400 doubles the performers and support people’s earning so they can pay their bills for the week - rent, food etc
$9,401+ goes to an Australian charity that supports the entertainment industry
