Ernest "Ernie" Servín, is a beloved Grandfather, Father and Husband. Ernie is a wonderful, kindhearted and selfless man who contracted Covid 19 while taking care of his Father In-law who was battling major health issues and unbeknownst to the family was Covid 19 positive.
Ernie has fought a hard battle with this horrible virus since June 30th. Due to stringent Covid hospital policies, he wasn't able to be admitted for treatment until on July 3rd. The small hospital in his small town was ill equipped to treat him and because they did not have a Pulmonologist, the hospital had him air lifted by helicopter to Carondelet St Joseph's Hospital in Tucson, Arizona. The trip caused a great deal of stress to his body and once he reached St. Joseph's he suffered cardiac arrest and was resuscitated. He was then sedated and intubated. Severe pneumonia had caused a horrible infection and damage to his lungs. A chest tube drainage system was implanted in both lungs. On July 19th his Kidneys started fail and now a DNR has been put in place. He is a fighter but he is not expected to make it.
We are fundraising for Ernie because his wife Yolanda could never afford to pay for these treatment by herself. With medical fee piling up and now funeral expenses are expected, his wife Yolanda will be struggling to pay them due to Ernie being the only source of income.
