My name is Carla Anderson. I've owned and operated my groovy Rock n Roll Hair Salon, Balance, in downtown Jersey City, N.J. since 2002. 18 yrs. Its a unique space with a unique vibe.  In 2004 New York Times said about Balance "Imagine CBGBS  With Mousse and Shears"  they were right! Balance Salon even had its own public access show back in 2008  that i filmed and edited myself called "Groovy At 18 Erie" that ran till 2012, you can watch here or on youtube orVimeoand later in 2013 we shot a sizzle for our own TV reality show called "Unbalanced" you can watch on Vimeo.com , Its so much more than a  salon. Hair, Rock n Roll,  Style, a Cultural meeting place, and a Safe Space  for all!  Balance Salon is an EXPIERIENCE! Unfortunately Covid-19 has shut my business  down since mid March and the bills are piling up. We are in one of the most infected areas in N.J. and I fear business in this area, hair salons in particular, will  sit empty until   July? August? When its safe again. No doubt  that when we can reopen again we will be busier than ever, but till  then, it will be a challange  to make the rent and  bills. I've never been  on this end of a fundraiser before, but  under the circumstances, i  need all the help i can get to get through this. Balance is my life and im desperate  to  save it.
