Covid-19: Urgent Medical Help Needed in Nepal
Donation protected
Please help me to support my remote village which is suffering from Covid-19
Hi everyone,
Nepal’s death rate is the worst in South Asia because of the new strain and the bad healthcare system. In the past week, there have been over 60,000 new cases. We have been working as a trekking guide in Nepal for the past 11 years guiding thousands of tourists every year but now we need to look after our village where over a hundred people are sick.
Our village has got no medical help from the government and ambulances cannot access the village. We don't have access to any basic PPE like face masks, hand sanitizer, or supplemental oxygen. Because of the lockdown, many people cannot get basic food like oil, sugar and salt as vehicles are struggling to access the village. There is no hospital (the only hospital is an hour away) and because it's very small, it isn't coping with how many people need it's help.
We have started this fundraiser so we can purchase PPE and basic food necessities so that we can start to manage the virus and we can make sure that people have enough to eat. If we raise enough then Iwe will also buy an oxygen tank.
We know that the pandemic has been very hard for everybody so we will be really grateful for any donation and so will the people of our village.
Thank you so much and stay safe,
Jaite Tamang (Ajay) & Saroj Parajuli
