A lot of yall know Courtney Agee in VB. She always greets everyone with a big smile and a hug. She'd give the shirt off her back to anyone who needed it. She loves working with charities, especially ones for the military, cancer, kids, and animals of course. She especially loves working charity events that are on the golf course - her home away from home, besides the beach.
Recently Courtney was diagnosed with Stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Due to her young age, bilateral mastectomy is the best choice. We are still waiting for a few more test results to determine if her ovaries need to be removed as well.
Courtney does have insurance. Good insurance. However, there are copays for numerous doctor appointments and insurance does not cover 100% of her procedures and surgeries that lay ahead. Then there are everyday expenses such as toiletries, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, gas for her car to get her to numerous doctor appointments, just to name a few.
Just recently before her diagnosis, she was offered a job in the medical field working with opiate dependent patients, a job she loved and found very rewarding in the past. Unfortunately, she had to turn it down due to her cancer diagnosis. She's unable to work at this time and things will start piling up for her.
Courtney is a 100% single mother of her precious 14 yr old Doodlebug. Courtney has raised Doodlebug on her own for the past 7 years. And has done a great job. Doodlebug recently attended Kemps Landing Magnet School from 6th - 8th grades. She will be attending The Business and Entreprenueralship Academy at Kempsville High School this fall. She will not only graduate with a high school diploma but also an associates degree in business from TCC.
Please consider helping Court and her Doodlebug through this rough patch. She's a strong woman and has weathered many storms, this being the toughest. Please help out of yall can. Thank you.
Thanks for all that took the time to read and thank you especially for those who donated.
sincerely
